Clinical Care Center
UI Health Clinical Care Center (CCC) provides a comprehensive patient management program. This is done through providing patients with detailed treatment initiations and ongoing clinical assessment calls, engaging specialty clinic treatment providers, documenting specialty pharmacy activities in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR), and the delivery of standardized program services to all of our specialty patients.
Patient Access Center
The Prior Authorization Center (PAC) is a team of pharmacy technicians dedicated to the timely and efficient process of obtaining prior authorizations. Prior authorization is a payor-mandated requirement for select therapies to manage the utilization and costs associated with medication use. A successful authorization for complex therapies typically requires detailed justification and supporting documentation on the medical necessity of a specific therapy.
PAC Partnerships
UI Health Specialty Pharmacy Services has partnered with the UI Health Oncology Clinic and UI Health Transplant Center to provider comprehensive prior authorization services to the clinic providers. Each clinic delegates all prior authorization requests and communications to a technician managed under UI Health Specialty Pharmacy Services.
Fulfillment and Home Delivery Services
The Specialty Pharmacy Fulfillment and Home Delivery Services team supports the dispensing and delivery functions of the organization. Our pharmacist clinically reviews each prescription and performs final product verification. Our technicians help fill and package the medication for home delivery. Additionally the team supports delivery operations for the Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Department, and have mailed over 500 deliveries each month.
