Specialty Pharmacy Services offers an ASHP accredited PGY1 Community-based pharmacy residency program with a focus in specialty pharmacy. The program is housed within the Specialty Pharmacy Services Clinical Care Center. The goal of the residency is to provide the necessary training to produce a specialty pharmacy practitioner capable of pursuing roles in a variety of specialty pharmacy settings or to pursue additional specialized training. This program began in 2016 with one available position annually and in 2021 expanded to two available positions annually. Each resident has successfully graduated from the program. After graduation, residents have pursued careers as clinical pharmacists at health system specialty pharmacies, advanced clinical roles at pharmaceutical companies, and an ASHP executive leadership fellowship.
